Art Information for Art in the Park

Entry Fee:
There is a $50.00 fee (one exhibitor per space — no half spaces) which is non-refundable. Exhibit space will be approximately 12' x 12'. Pre-assigned booth spaces will be given to exhibitors as they enter the park. Exhibitors should set up between 5:30 and 9:00 am and be responsible for their own set-ups, screens and canopies. Artists are expected to stay until 5 pm. Outdoor show; come prepared for all types of weather. The Art in the Park Festival does not retain a percentage of your sales. Entries received by July 14, 2008 may be used in advertising for our purchase awards.

Requirements:
Artists who have not exhibited with us for the last 3 years MUST submit 3-5 photographs or slides, which are representative of all current works to be shown at the festival. These photographs or slides will be reviewed by a screening committee and will not be returned. Detailed description of work to be displayed must be on the entry form.

Acceptable Work:
Original fine arts including painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, sculpture, pottery, pottery, and glass will be considered for judging. All works since 2001 and not previously awarded a prize at Winfield Art in the Park will be judged. Categories above must have at least three pieces exhibited in that medium and all works judged must be for sale. Drawings, prints, and paintings must be framed or matted. Original fine crafts including weaving, jewelry, works in wood, folk art, fiber art, etc. will be considered for judging.  No molds, kits, patterns, or commercially produced items or consignment items are allowed. We will ask exhibitors to remove these if they appear the day of the festival.

Awards:
Merit awards for fine arts in the above categories will be selected by a judge. They will total $1,200 and include a $275 Best of Show and a $175 award for Best Original Craft. The criteria for judging all awards will be at the discretion of the judge. Official judging begins at 10 am.

Purchase awards are prepaid commitments by local individuals and businesses totaling approximately $7,000 which will be spent throughout the day of the festival. Ribbons of purchase are given. Remember, only purchase award patrons will be invited to make their selections from 9-10am, before the festival is opened to the public.

Liability:
The Winfield Arts and Humanities Council and Winfield Art in the Park Board Members are not responsible for personal injury and loss or damage to work displayed. Artists should insure their own work.
