2007-2008 Artist in residence
Leigh Ann Tasker

I grew up on a farm north of Winfield. I was involved in 4-H, sports, music and art. After studying art for two years in college, my husband and I married and began raising our family. We have four children and live on a farm in Cowley County. Our family has been involved in many activities over the years in 4-H, church and school. I have a strong commitment to the Winfield community.
My desire to become a teacher developed during these years of raising my own family. I really enjoy young people. The opportunity to help them learn and mature is a fulfilling, worthwhile occupation. My love for art has been constant during my life. As our children grew older and more self sufficient, I was able to go back to college at Wichita State University, graduating in December 2006 with a BFA. I have a license to teach art, pre-k through 12th grade.
